Free Course: Introduction to Commissioning

Registration is closed for this event
This session will help voluntary and community groups to understand the commissioning processes in Leeds, who the key commissioners are, help you decide if contracting for services is for you and the next steps you should take.

Leeds City Council, NHS CCGs and other public sector purchasers of goods and services have moved from awarding only grants to more formal service level agreements and contracts. This is part of the commissioning process which involves the assessment of a community?s needs and buying in organisations to provide services to meet those needs. Within the commissioning process commissioners are keen to explore new ways for those public agencies and the service providers to achieve better outcomes for local communities.

This course will include a brief demonstration by Neil Barrett, Procurement and Commercial Senior Officer on using Yortender and Tony Bailey, Procurement Category Manager – Adults & Health will attend part of the session to answer any of your questions
