Free Course - Commissioning: Bidding for Contracts - Only Available to Leeds Based Groups

This session will help organisations bid for contracts. It will ensure organisations know what they need to have in place in order to be eligible to apply and help them understand how to complete a successful SSQ (Standard Selection Questionnaire) and tender. A commissioner from LCC will give support and advice during the session.

This course is suitable for any voluntary or community sector organisation planning to bid, or in the process of bidding, for a contract from a public sector provider, and for staff who are new to bidding for contracts.

THIS COURSE IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO LEEDS BASED SMALL GROUPS AND THIRD SECTOR ORGANISATIONS IN LEEDS.

Course Description:

Leeds City Council, NHS CCGs and other public sector bodies are keen to contract with third sector organisations to provide services through the commissioning process which involves the assessment of a community’s needs and buying in organisations to provide services to meet those needs. Michelle Atkinson, Commissioner from LCC Adults and Health will be attending the session.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the commissioning process (including the commissioning cycle).
  • Check your organisation is ready to bid and identify any risks.
  • Guide you through completing a PQQ and tender – looking at answers to key questions.
  • Understand what commissioners look for in a successful bid and how they are scored.
  • Where to find information, help and support – and get feedback on your draft tenders.

Please note as this course is a free course if you book a place and are unable to attend for any reason (i.e. illness, or other circumstances) and cannot send another colleague in your place, please let us know as soon as possible. If you give us less than 14 days notice you will be charged a £10 non attendance fee.
