Free Course - Starting your Organisation from Scratch - Only Available to Leeds Based Groups

This course is suitable for new groups, starting from scratch who wish to set up a small community group (unincorporated association). This workshop is not intended for people who want to incorporate as a community interest company or to register as a charity.

 

 

Course Description

This is a free course for groups starting from scratch that are based in Leeds. This workshop will enable new groups, starting from scratch to draft a constitution and to understand the other tasks that they need to carry out in order to become a small established group and to be able to apply for small funding grants.

THIS COURSE IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO LEEDS BASED SMALL GROUPS AND 3RD SECTOR ORGANISATIONS IN LEEDS. Please read our cancellation policy below.

 

Learning Objectives

  • Draw up a set of rules (this is called the constitution) and membership form.
  • Open a bank account in the name of the group.
  • Know where to go to get help with bookkeeping and accounts.
  • Know where to go to get help to draw up a Safeguarding Policy.
  • Know how to action plan.
  • Learn about health checks.

 

Cancellation Policy

Please note as this course is a free course if you book a place and are unable to attend for any reason (i.e. illness, or other circumstances) and cannot send another colleague in your place, please let us know as soon as possible. If you give us less than 14 days’ notice you will be charged a £10 non attendance fee.
