Meet Paige Cowling, Sharon Waugh and Rachel Hannon, from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority Engagement Team, supporting organisations in Leeds to apply for the Mayor’s Safer Communities Fund. Paige, Sharon and Rachel will outline the criteria and application process, giving tips on making a good application.

The Mayor’s Safer Communities Fund, provides grants of up to £10,000 to voluntary, community groups, charities and partners to provide support for innovative community safety projects.

The fund welcomes projects which support any of the 3 priorities within the 2024-2028  Police and Crime Plan:

  • Supporting Victims and Witnesses
  • Keeping People Safe
  • Safer Places and Thriving Communities

All applications must align with policing, tackling crime and community safety, you are advised to read The Police and Crime Plan - West Yorkshire Combined Authority (westyorks-ca.gov.uk)  for more information on the themes outlined above.

The event will be very informal, and you will have the opportunity to ask Paige and Sharon questions.  It will help you to:

  • Learn more about what can be funded
  • Check your planned request for funding (and your organisation) is eligible
  • Know what makes a successful funding application
  • Understand the application process

Suitable for: voluntary, community groups, charities and their partners in Leeds.
