Writing Successful Funding Bids
Course Description
This course will support organisations to write and submit stronger funding bids and increase their chances of success. We will look at key funders such as the National Lottery Community Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund, Landfill funders, large charitable trusts and other funders giving grant funding above £10,000.
We will look at key application questions such as giving an outline of your project – what you will do: how, why, when, where, assessing needs/opportunities, outcomes and impact, your capacity to manage and deliver your project, involving people, evaluation and fit with national and local strategies. We will look at what makes a bid stand out from the rest, and how to present your bid succinctly, with the right tone and ethos.
Learning Outcomes
The course will help you to:
- be prepared to complete a funding bid off over £10,000
- understand what funders look for in answers to key questions – need/opportunity, outcomes, project outline, and management, people involvement, and strategic fit.
- develop your bid writing skills and bring your project to life
- Know how bids are assessed
You can bring along any draft bids – but please let Kaye know. You can contact Kaye on 01132977920. After the session you can e-mail any draft bids to Kaye, and she will give you some feedback to help you to improve your bid.
