Wharfedale Naturalists Society

Organisation Aims and Activities: Established in 1945, Wharfedale Naturalists Society exists to increase enjoyment of wildlife in Wharfedale from its source to Castley, and its side valleys. We have fortnightly slide lectures in Ilkley during the winter, and during the summer numerous walks. The Society has botany, bird-watching, microscope, and geology sections, and recorders for all branches of natural history. It runs research projects and work parties at its nature reserves, and has published a number of local guides. The strength of the Society is in its friendly, knowledgeable membership. The subscription is excellent value and new members are always welcomed!
