Organisation Aims and Activities: YAHS is a charity established in 1863 to encourage the study of Yorkshire's past, both archaeological and historical. We run lectures and day schools and work closely with many other voluntary groups in the heritage sector across the historic county of Yorkshire. Our library and archive collections are now kept in the Brotherton Special Collections, University of Leeds. We publish the Yorkshire Archaeological Journal every year, and have a range of other publications, plus newsletters to our members. See our web site www.yas.org.uk.
