Older Wiser Local Seniors (OWLS)

Organisation Aims and Activities: OWLS (Older, Wiser Local Seniors) supports older people (aged 55+) in Burley, Hyde Park, Little Woodhouse, Headingley and parts of Kirkstall to live happy, fulfilled lives and masintain independence in later life. We involve volunteers in running a range of activities and services. Activities include weekly shopping trips, lunch clubs, an exercise class, Bollywood film screenings (at Hyde Park Picture House) and a loneliness project in partnership with Yorkshire County Cricket Club. OWLS is managed by Bramley Elderly Action. It is one of the Leeds Neighbourhood Network Schemes for older people, funded by Leeds City Council.
