Organisation Aims and Activities: To advance the education of the general public in the Drighlington Metropolitan District of Leeds and the surrounding area., in particular, but not exclusively by the provision of a lending library. To further or benefit the residents of Drighlington Metropolitan District of Leeds and the neighbourhood, irrespective of sex, sexual orientation, race, political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents, the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education. Also to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents. Provision of a library of books, e-books and jigsaws. A computer suite comprising 3 computers which have been updated this year. Provide newspapers and magazines A place to rest, read, chat or have a non-alcoholic drink Inform residents of ongoing events and village concerns by notices, internet through web page and face book A village magazine by the people for the people ? free- where they can air any concerns Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information) There are no paid workers. All are voluntary who give their time and energy. All are totally committed to what they are doing.
