Organisation Aims and Activities: The object of the Institute is to manage and control by charitable means but not otherwise the freehold property at Oulton in the County of York described in and conveyed by a Conveyance dated 7 July 1893 and made between Edmund Calverley of the one part and himself and other of the other part (now vested in Trustees on behalf of the Institute) for the purpose of a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of the parishes of Oulton and Woodlesford without distinction of political religious or other opinions including use for meetings, lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure time with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
