Chernobyl Children's Project - Leeds

Organisation Aims and Activities:

The group provides recuperative holidays for children from the areas in Belarus affected by the Chernobyl disaster of 1986. Between 14 and 20 children come for four weeks in the Summer and are hosted in Leeds. We raise funds to bring them and organise activities around the visit and provide information about the current status of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Fund-raising also provides resources for aid convoys to Belarus and working with Belarusian authorities to develop medical and social projects.
