Dogs Trust Freedom Project
Organisation Aims and Activities: Dogs Trust Freedom Project provides temporary foster care for dogs belonging to women fleeing domestic violence in Greater London and Yorkshire. Volunteer foster carers will care for your dog in their own home until you are in a position to be reunited. The service is provided free of charge and costs such as pet food and veterinary treatment will be covered by Dogs Trust. In several recent studies of women seeking refuge from domestic violence, nearly half reported that their pets had been threatened, injured, or killed by their partners.
