Nacro Youth Inclusion
Organisation Aims and Activities: Nacro has spent many years creating opportunities for young people, helping them engage with learning, develop skills and play a constructive and law-abiding role in their community. We have over 35 years' experience in working with marginalised groups and disadvantaged communities, providing the help and support they need to build better futures for themselves, and more than 20 years' track record of delivering services to disengaged young people. Long-term unemployment, poverty and a lack of affordable recreational activities can contribute to disengagement. Young people in neighbourhoods where these exist often have little to occupy their time. For some, boredom and a sense of marginalisation can lead to involvement in anti-social and offending behaviour: vandalism, petty crime and annoying other residents can become a form of entertainment.
