Wetherby Methodist Church

The Church also runs activites and events for example Sunday School, youth groups, Guides, Brownies, house groups, fellowship groups, banner making, badminton, flower arranging, groups for older people, golf society, walking groups. Please contact the Church or visit our website for details.

Wetherby Musical Theatre Group

We are an amateur theatre musical group and charity, based in Wetherby, West Yorkshire, and perform musical shows for Wetherby and surrounding areas. We aim to perform one major musical and one pantomime / smaller show each year. We also organise numerous fund raising events and social evenings throughout the year. We meet to rehearse each Tuesday evening at 7:30pm venue is at Deighton Gates School with additional reheasals as required on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons as we work towards a production. Wetherby Retired Men's Forum

The forum holds talks, discussions and lectures, and organizes a summer outing in June and Christmas lunch in December.

Wetherby Speakers Club

Wetherby Speakers Club is part of the Association of Speakers Clubs, a non-profit making self help organisation formed to help people develop and improve their communication skills. Social gatherings to help confidence at all levels.

Wetherby Town Hall

The Town Hall is used for charity and community functions and three large rooms available for public hire. The Town Hall is administered as a charitable trust by the Town Council. Booking enquiries can be made to the Town Council Office on 01937 583584.

Wetherby Townswomen's Guild

The Townswomens Guild aims to improve and provide better working and leisure facilities for all women irrespective of race, creed or party, to enable women to make the best contribution towards the common good.

Wetherby Twinning Association

The Association sustains and promotes the official twinning between Wetherby in Leeds, West Yorkshire and Privas, the prefecture of the Ardeche in France. Contact is maintained between residents and the Councils in both towns and regular exchange visits are arranged. The Association is funded through the activities and subsriptions of its members.

Wetherby Women's Institute

Today's women working for tommorow's world. Speakers, craft days, social events, fun and fellowship.Meetings are held 2nd Wednesday of each month except August (an outing is usually arranged) in St. James's Church Rooms, Wetherby, LS22 6LP at 7.30pm. Meetings are variable and include Speakers, Outings, Craft Classes, Theatre trips, visits to places of interest and meals out. At the present time we have 36 members. New Members and Visitors are always made very welcome.

Wharfedale German Circle aims to forge friendship links between Wharfedale and towns and villages in Germany, and to provide a focus for local people interested in German-speaking countries.

Wharfedale Naturalists Society

Established in 1945, Wharfedale Naturalists Society exists to increase enjoyment of wildlife in Wharfedale from its source to Castley, and its side valleys. We have fortnightly slide lectures in Ilkley during the winter, and during the summer numerous walks. The Society has botany, bird-watching, microscope, and geology sections, and recorders for all branches of natural history. It runs research projects and work parties at its nature reserves, and has published a number of local guides. The strength of the Society is in its friendly, knowledgeable membership.The subscription is excellent value and new members are always welcomed!

White Ribbon Campaign

The White Ribbon Campaign is the largest global effort of men working to end male violence against women. We aim to educate and raise awareness of violence against women, and to engage men in these issues.

White Rose Concert Band

First and foremost a community ensemble, the band consists of woodwind, brass and percussion players of a range of ages (16yrs+). The emphasis is on music and friendship, while challenging everyone to perform to the highest standard under the baton of Musical Director, Ben Tierney. Performances are held at a variety of venues throughout the year, including outdoor venues across the district in the summer months. The band regularly takes part in competitive festivals and has gained Gold and Silver Awards at national level. There is also a Training Band which provides an opportunity for players with basic instrumental skills to play music with others under the direction of a conductor. Funding is mainly obtained from subscriptions and concerts. The band is a member of BASBWE (British Association of Bands and Wind Ensembles.)

White Rose Ladies Speakers Club

White Rose Speakers Club aims to help women acquire the skills and the confidence to speak effectively in any situation. We warmly welcome all women, regardless of age or background, and offer them the opportunity to learn and develop their speaking skills in a relaxed friendly environment. We aim to release energy, talent and potential as you learn to speak with confidence and without fear. It is a fantastic oppotunitty for allwomen to learn an increasingly important skill without paying expensive costs. Being able to speak to an audience opens up huge opportunities and ultimately gives women confidence in all areas of their lives.

Widows Advisory Service

Provides an Information and Advisory Service for all widows and their families. Offers support whenever help is needed regardless of age, length of widowhood and personal circumstances. Works closely with a sister charity, the National Association of Widows.

Wigton Moor United Reformed Church

We are a place of Christian worship and community service, open to everyone with children's and youth activities on Thursday evenings, activities for elderly people on Wednesday afternoons, a private playschool every morning, a support group for local childminders, a Brownie pack and dance classes for children / young people. Worship takes place every Sunday.

Wild Goose Wellbeing CIC

Wild Goose provides outdoor retreats and nature based workshops for stressed out adults in need of some me-time. Imagine you're in the woods, surrounded by nature, sitting on a log and sipping a hot cocoa. Feel the wind on your face and the calm spread over your body. Our retreats and workshops include things like outdoor yoga, barefoot walking, mindfulness, making natural skincare, natural arts and craft and campfire cooking. We're based on ecotherapy and so work with nature to help people to feel better. As a social enterprise, the money we make from our retreats goes towards providing free sessions for people who are referred with mental health problems.

Williams Syndrome Foundation

The Foundation provides support for families with a Williams Syndrome Child/Adult. Monthly meetings are held in Manchester, Liverpool or Yorkshire, as required. The Foundation also hosts an annual summer picnic and Christmas party. There is a 14+ group (Team Mates) for self development. Also access to: national conventions, professional advisory panel, holidays.

Addressing social isolation by bringing international people and elderly people together, helping international people speak English more fluently and helping elderly people to feel valued.

Women's Counselling & Therapy Services

WCTS is the women?s specialist therapy service in Leeds, providing accessible low cost long-term expert counselling and psychotherapy to support women experiencing long standing moderate or severe mental health problems to move into recovery and make a marked difference to their lives and to the lives of their dependents. WCTS is client led and works with women from diverse communities who, through stigma, isolation, trauma and or inequality, are unable to access NHS psychological or psychotherapy services.

Women's Health Matters

Womens Health Matters works with women across Leeds, so that together they can take control of their lives and their health. WHM prioritise work with women in disadvantaged areas in the city and work with groups of women who experience additional disadvantage. Working in local neighbourhoods WHM offer opportunities to develop women?s skills and confidence, as well as increasing knowledge and awareness about health. It is run by women for women in Leeds
