Side by Side volunteers provide agreed support to people with dementia to keep them out in their local community. You can support a person with dementia to go to their local park, the cinema, take up an old hobby, visit local museums, try a new leisure activity or just stay at home and chat. There is also an option of telephone support, where you can chat over the phone to the person with dementia if they require this.

We need Weekend Wardens to provide excellent customer service to groups that visit the campsite throughout their stay. From checking them in with a smile to processing payments, setting up and delivering activities requested, running the tuck shop and dealing with any maintenance issues. You can do all weekend and stay in the Wardens bungalow or do 1 day and go home happy.

In an emergency such as a transport incident, evacuation, flood or fire, you’ll be there to help.

We will give you training so you can support the emergency services at a rest centre, or provide first aid or transport assistance during severe weather.

You could also provide practical and emotional help to people who have suddenly found themselves homeless following a fire, evacuation, industrial accident or flood.
