Hang On To A Dream Hang On To A Dream is the first regional charity in Yorkshire for seriously ill young people and children with life threatening illnesses to make their dreams come true. Set up in 1997, Hang On To A Dream has granted the wishes and dreams of more than 70 young people with life threatening illnesses. Dream judges each case individually and operates a flexible policy regarding age which means that not only do we help young children, but also teens and twenties. Another thing which makes Dream unique is the fact that not one penny raised for the young people is spent on administration cost, wages or equipment.Cases can cost a few pence to a few thousanfd pounds. Everything from a signed photo of Terry Wogan to a trip to Disney Land, from visiting Liverpool FC, to landscaping a garden. At Dream we delight in making young people SMILE. Harewood Village Hall Harewood Village Hall is a multi-purpose venue suitable for all types of events and functions - there is the Main Hall with stage, one Large Meeting Room and one Small Meeting Room. Headingley Development Trust Headingley Development Trust (HDT) is a member-led organisation working to develop and support a sustainable community in Headingley. With over 1100 members, it currently employs no staff directly and is entirely volunteer-run. It has established a number of key projects locally including HEART (Headingley Enterprise and Arts Centre) which operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary and has been running since January 2011; Headingley Farmers Market, which celebrates its 10th birthday in September 2016; Headingley Homes, providing homes locally for long-term residents; Headingley Community Orchard and several others smaller-scale projects. Headingley Enterprise and Arts Centre (HEART) HEART is the enterprise, arts and community centre in the middle of Headingley, run by the community for the community. HEART was established by Headingley Development Trust (HDT); it receives no grant support and runs entirely on earned income. We have various rooms for hire suitable for 1-2-1's up to large conferences. We have a licensed caf? open from 8am-9pm which features live music every Tuesday night. Headingley St Columba United Reformed Church We are a Christain Family who have Jesus Christ at the heart of our worship and our lives. We are trying to catch a vision as to how we can reach others in love and compassion. Our premises are used by a number of organisations from our community. We offer a Prayer request book for the use of the people in our Church community. We have five rooms for hire: three seating up to 15 people, one seating up to 50, and one up to 120.
Headway Leeds - the brain injury association Headway Leeds is a local branch of Headway-the brain injury association and is run by a small committee of volunteers who are brain injury survivors, unpaid carers and interested professionals. Membership is free. If you would like to keep up to date with any news and events, please contact us to request a Membership form. Our main aim is to organise monthly social activities for those who have sustained an injury, their carers, families and friends, to reduce the feeling of isolation many feel. We also welcome interested professionals. As a branch of Headway UK we do not receive funding other than individual donations or our own fundraising activities. We do not have any paid staff and so unfortunately are not able to provide support workers and are not able to offer voluntary work placements.

Hejira Housing We are a specialist letting agency, working exclusively with landlords who house homeless people. We currently manage 17 flats in Leeds 11, partnering with one private landlord and Leeds City Council's Housing Options Team. We aim to provide secure accommodation to people who have been in housing needs. This includes providing housing support, either via our own staff or be helping residents to access appropriate support from other agencies.

Thereby, reducing the rate of domestic violence against their partners, divorce and suggesting what is in the best for the children. We do our best to educate the public and partner agencies in the causes and effects of intimate partners? violence.

Hillside Leeds Hillside is a fully accessible building whose facilities are hired out for business and general use - all meeting room facilities are on the ground floor.Hillsides ethos is that we can cater for any event, so whether its a seminar, press launch, activity class special occasion or community gathering we are happy to provide space. Hillside is a sustainable building, developed by local development trust Tiger 11. All profits mad at the venue go towards new projects to help regenerate the local community.

Those who attend the Gala can get information from the Council and other organisations, find out about major issues affecting Holbeck, speak to or get involved with local community groups, or simply come, have some food and enjoy the atmosphere.

Holme Valley Sharing Memories Holme Valley Sharing Memories Group (HVSMG) was established in the mid 1990s with the aim of bringing together older people to share their memories of the past with each other and with the wider community, and to use these shared memories as a basis for creating high quality art works. The Group is made up of elderly people living in the rural Holme Valley on the outskirts of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. With the support of two artists, Sharing Memories works with local schools and other community groups on a range of projects which serve to both celebrate and interpret our lives and our local heritage.

Home-Start Leeds Volunteers needed to visit families with at least one child under 7 years old, in their own homes across Leeds. Volunteers offer families support with a range of issues they may be dealing with. From financial issues to mental health problems, issues with brining up children and housing. Volunteers are required to attend a 15 week preparation course which s 3 hours per week (weekday morning or evenings) before they can support a family. This s a great opportunity for anyone seeking to gain experience of supporting families and children. Volunteers are able to access excellent learning and development opportunities. A good level of spoken English is required for this role. The role is available Leeds wide. Volunteers can use their own transport or public transport. Home-Start reimburse travel expenses. All volunteers require a DBS and two references.
Homeworkers Worldwide We support the work of the international solidarity network of homebased workers. Specifically we:- Manage development projects which help to organise grassroots groups of homebased workers around the world; Provide training materials and arranging exchanges for groups to share their experience; Work with the international network to raise the profile of homebased workers, to improve people's working conditions and to change legislation to benefit poor workers; Co-ordinate work in the UK on international homeworking issues - lobbying, arranging meetings in the UK for visitors from abroad, working with other UK-based organisations to promote the issues; Co-ordinate the work of the European Homeworking Group, which involves organisations and research in Western, Central and Eastern Europe.
Hooner Kelah Training Project Hooner Kelah was established in 1985, to address the multiple disadvantages faced by Asian women who wish to enter the labour market. The project particularly targets women who experience multiple deprivation, in particular women with language, literacy, numeracy, IT, basic skills needs. It also supports women who need intense support prior to entering into employment or further education. Many of Hooner Kelah's beneficiaries have had little or no experience of training or education, for some women this is the first independent step taken outside of their home. This is particularly the case amongst women who have migrated to England and have no real experience and understanding of the infra-structure of living in this country. Therefore they need a lot of guidance and support in integrating into the wider community.

Horsforth Village Historical Society Horsforth Village Historical Society operates the local museum which currently has five exhibition rooms, one on the ground floor. The new Resource Centre provides a new meeting room with lift access. We try to change the display in two rooms every two years. Three rooms remain as Horsforth local history rooms. School/Private visits by arrangement. Events (e.g. lectures) are held on historic subjects / walks / visits on a monthly basis. Membership costs ?10 couples, ?6 singles. Newsletters are issued periodically. Volunteers may help with archiving, staffing the museum, or general research/administration. A workgroup meets each Tuesday afternoon from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.
Horsforth Village Museum The Museum aims to reflect local heritage in its interesting exhibits which are drawn from all aspects of life in and around Horsforth and have a great nostalgic and educational value. Horsforth was once described as the largest village in England and has somehow managed to retain some of its village like identity, character and sense of community. The Museum, which opened to the public in July 1998, is situated at The Green in the heart of the old village.

Humanist Society of West Yorkshire The Humanist Society of West Yorkshire is one of a number of local Humanist groups established throughout the country and affiliated to the British Humanist Association. We seek truth by reason not revelation, so hold there is no God and no afterlife; thus we must take resonsibility for our own lives, our community and for all humankind, based on shared human values. The group acts as a focal point for Humanists throughout West Yorkshire and organises monthly talks given by invited speakers on a range of Humanist related topics, invariably followed by lively discussion! Other activities include non-religious funeral ceremonies, weddings and naming ceremonies, participation in the Leeds and Bradford Standing Advisory Councils on Religious Education, giving talks to schools and representing Humanism on local media.
